I first joined Real Estate in 1990, the year I moved to Tassie with my young family from the mainland. I worked as a sales consultant in the Derwent Valley with Roberts Real Estate. I was involved with the local New Norfolk primary school where my children attended and eventually served as P&F president for a number of years.
I’ve always had an interest in trains and railways, so naturally, I joined the Derwent Valley Railway, working on and off the train, including learning to drive it and serving on the Board of the Derwent Valley Tourist Railway.
In the middle 90’s I worked as “Sales and Technical” representative with Besser Bricks Blocks and Pavers. I often joke that I went from selling bricks and mortar, too, just selling bricks. My years there gave me a great insight into the building industry, which has come in handy when I rejoined the Real Estate Industry in 2003. In 2005 I gained a Diploma of Property from the REIT and went on to run my own Real Estate Agency in the Derwent Valley. That business was sold in 2012 and I had a short “trial” retirement or a big gap year when my wife and I took off in our van and toured the eastern states as far north as Cooktown.
The Berry family coaxed me out of retirement and back into real estate at 4one4 in early 2014. The gap year proved invaluable to regaining my enthusiasm for Real Estate industry where I really do enjoy helping my client’s customers realize the real estate dreams and goals.
